About BCBR Buddy

Built by a postgraduate medical student who sat the paper, for the people sitting it next.

Why it exists

BCBR is a research-methods and biostatistics course, and most of the people required to pass it are clinicians who have never formally studied either. The vocabulary is the hard part — not because the ideas are difficult, but because half a dozen terms that sound interchangeable turn out to mean precisely different things, and the exam is built on exactly those distinctions.

Sitting the exam in August 2026 made two things obvious. The paper is not a time test: three hours for a hundred questions is generous. And it is not a reasoning test either. It rewards having met the material before, in the form it will be asked.

What was missing was somewhere to answer questions and get told why the other three options were wrong. That is what this is.

What we do differently

Every explanation is written to separate confusable concepts rather than to restate the key. If a question turns on the difference between information seeking and critical appraisal, the explanation defines both and tells you which one the examiner is testing. That takes longer to write than “the answer is A”, and it is the entire product.

The readiness score is honest for the same reason. It measures you against 50 — the actual pass mark — not against perfection, it stays silent until it has seen enough of your answers to mean anything, and it reports whether your worst plausible day still clears the line rather than flattering you with an average.

What we deliberately left out

No streaks. No badges. No mastery rings. No leaderboards. Competing products have all of them, and every one is a reason to open an app rather than a reason to pass an exam.

We also do not build speed drills, because the exam has no time pressure and training for one would teach you to rush a paper that rewards care. Every feature has to answer one question: does this help someone pass? When the answer is unclear, we leave it out.

Who publishes it

BCBR Buddy is published by LUMINOVIX TECHNOLOGIES, a sole proprietorship registered in India. Full business details are on the contact page.

What we are not

We are an independent study aid. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to ICMR, NIE or any government body, we have no access to any live examination paper, and we do not promise that you will pass.

What we do promise is that the questions are relevant, the explanations are written to teach, mistakes get corrected quickly when you report them, and if the product is not what you expected within the first week you can have your money back — see the refund policy.
