Terms of service

These terms govern your use of BCBR Buddy. By creating an account or buying a pass you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who we are

BCBR Buddy is operated by LUMINOVIX TECHNOLOGIES, a sole proprietorship registered in India (Udyam registered), at ADD REGISTERED BUSINESS ADDRESS. In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean LUMINOVIX TECHNOLOGIES, and “you” means the person using the service.

2. What the service is

BCBR Buddy is a study aid. It provides practice questions, worked answers, explanations, mock papers and progress tracking to help you prepare for the Basic Course in Biomedical Research examination.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE), or any government body or examination authority. We do not administer the examination, we have no access to any live examination paper, and we cannot influence your result in any way.

We do not guarantee that you will pass. Our questions are practice material covering the pool that students consistently report seeing; we make no claim that any specific question will appear on any specific paper.

3. Your account

You need an account to study. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure, and for everything that happens under your account.

One device at a time. An account may be signed in on one device at a time. Signing in elsewhere ends the earlier session. You may switch devices, but switching is rate-limited to a reasonable number of changes per week to prevent account sharing. This is enforced automatically and is not a punishment.

Accounts are personal. Do not share your credentials, and do not buy a pass on behalf of multiple people.

4. Passes and payment

  • Every plan is a one-time payment that unlocks full access for a fixed period. Nothing renews automatically and we do not store your card.
  • Current durations and prices are shown on the pricing page and are the prices that apply at the moment you pay.
  • Passes stack. If you buy a second pass while one is still running, the new period begins when the current one ends, so you lose no days you have paid for.
  • Prices are the same on our website and in our mobile apps. Payments made inside a mobile app are processed by that app store under its own terms.
  • Payments on the website are processed by Razorpay. We never see your card details.

Refunds are covered separately in our refund and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.

5. Content and acceptable use

The explanations, mock paper logic, readiness scoring, study plans, design and software in BCBR Buddy are our property or licensed to us. You get a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use them to prepare for your own examination.

You may not:

  • copy, scrape, bulk-download, republish, sell or redistribute our content;
  • share your account, or provide access to people who have not paid;
  • use automated tools to extract questions or explanations;
  • remove or obscure any attribution or disclaimer; or
  • use the service in a way that breaks Indian law.

We may suspend or close an account that does any of these, without refund where the breach is serious or repeated.

6. Availability

We work to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. If we permanently withdraw the service while you hold an unexpired paid pass, we will refund the unused portion on a pro-rata basis.

7. Accuracy

We take accuracy seriously and correct errors quickly — content lives in our database rather than in the app, so a correction reaches you without an update. Even so, practice material can contain mistakes. If you think an answer or explanation is wrong, please tell us; we would genuinely rather know.

Nothing here is medical, clinical, legal or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for the official course material.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for examination outcomes, lost opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will give notice by email or in the app. Changes do not apply retrospectively to a pass you have already bought.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at ADD CITY, India shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any right you have to bring a complaint before a consumer forum where you live.
